February 9, 2022, Wichita, Kan. – Envision was honored by National Industries for the Blind (NIB), the national largest employment resource for people who are blind, with the 2021 Employment Growth Award. This award recognizes Envision’s efforts to increase employment retention, growth and upward mobility for people who are blind or visually impaired (BVI).
“We are proud to be honored for the work we are doing to continue our mission of providing opportunities for people who are blind or visually impaired through employment,” said Michael Monteferrante, President and CEO of Envision. “In our 19 facilities across 11 states, including Kansas and Texas, we employ 233 people who are BVI. That is as of today and those numbers increase daily.”
NIB presents Employment Growth Award recipients with funds created to recognize and encourage NIB affiliated agencies that grow or sustain employment for people who are blind. Emphasis is also placed on efforts to increase upward mobility in the workplace and job placement.
Through new products and customized manufacturing equipment, Envision is consistently growing and adapting to meet the needs of employees. New warehouse scanners, for example, have helped employees who are blind or visually impaired locate work orders faster and easier with a more intuitive interface and stable connectivity. In addition, Envision’s Workforce Innovation Center and Child Development Center frequently welcomes Envision warehouse staff into positions that demonstrate upward mobility, providing fulfilling careers for those who are blind or visually impaired.
“Congratulations to Envision for receiving NIB’s Employment Growth Award,” said NIB President and CEO Kevin Lynch. “Envision continues to do an outstanding job of creating rewarding career opportunities for people who are blind in Wichita, KS, Dallas, TX and across the nation.”
