ERI Welcomes Acclaimed Professor Dr. Michael E. Rogers as Part-time Research Manager

Wichita, Kan. (Oct. 30, 2023) – The Gigi and Carl Allen Envision Research Institute (ERI) is proud to welcome Dr. Michael Rogers, CSCS, FACSM, FAAAJ, as its part-time Research Manager. Dr. Rogers, a renowned professor of exercise science at Wichita State University (WSU), brings a wealth of expertise within the research field.
Internationally recognized for his research on the effects of balance and resistance training on older adults, Dr. Rogers has been invited to present in 22 countries and has a deep association with Japan, where he collaborates on community-based exercise programs. Dr. Rogers brings his prolific background, which includes over 90 published papers and 400 presentations, to the ERI, enhancing its research capabilities.
On joining the ERI, Dr. Rogers remarked, "I’m eager and honored for the opportunity to help advance the important research done at the Envision Research Institute. Understanding the research processes is crucial, and I look forward to helping ensure we achieve our objectives, from ideation to project completion."

Established in 2013, ERI has been a nexus for systematic investigation in the fields of low vision and blind rehabilitation, attracting researchers from around the world. The institution's objectives encompass elevating standards for patient care in visual impairment, facilitating early detection and treatment access, refining rehabilitation methodologies, and spearheading advancements in accessible technology. ERI’s postdoctoral fellowships provide an academic setting wherein appointees conduct research to address the daily challenges faced by people who are blind or visually impaired.
