Advancing Early Childhood Education: Envision’s Child Development Center

Blog Content
The Envision Child Development Center (ECDC) is a leader in inclusive early education, providing a nurturing and accessible learning environment where children of all abilities can thrive. Advocacy plays a critical role in shaping the future of early childhood education, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to build a strong foundation for lifelong success.
In February, Teresa Houston, Director of ECDC, joined lawmakers at the Kansas State Capitol to champion the importance of early education. This collaboration between educators, policymakers, and community leaders is essential in creating opportunities for all children—especially those who are blind, visually impaired, or have other disabilities.
“Early childhood education lays the foundation for a child’s development, opening doors to opportunities that shape their future in profound and lasting ways,” said Teresa Houston, Director of ECDC. “At Envision, we believe every child deserves to grow and thrive in a space that embraces their unique abilities. ECDC is more than a learning center—it’s a place of empowerment, where each child receives the support they need to reach their full potential. Standing alongside lawmakers who share this commitment was truly an honor, and I’m deeply grateful for the continued support of our elected officials, families, and advocates. When communities come together to prioritize early learning, we create meaningful, lasting change—one child at a time."
